Sometimes I like to challenge myself to try something new. Although I have used this method of photography before, I have never actually managed to capture a snowflake like this. I will admit I would love a macro lens but will not spend the money on one as it hasn’t much practical use for me in my everyday photography. So my answer to curb this creative need is to use my 50mm lens free lens style, which simply means I detach my lens and flip it around to shoot through it backwards. It is a little finicky to get the focus bang on since the simple act of breathing will cause you to move enough for the focus to be off. But like I said, sometimes I like to challenge myself.
