hedgerow /hej,ro/ (n.)
a hedge of wild shrubs and trees, typically bordering a road or field.
Two edges of our property are lined with hedgerows. On the other side of these are a ditch and then farmers fields. Many wonderful things can be found among our hedgerows, raspberries, thistles, wild grapes, an assortment of flowers and other berries I do not think are edible. The front corner of our property at the start of the hedgerow is the most wonderful 100+ year old ash tree.
