English Country Roses | SD&G Photographer

There is something wonderful about roses. I have many fond memories that include roses. My Nan grew roses, huge lush climbing roses they grew up trellises at the front of the house and up and over an arbour in the back of the house. She had many different flowers but those are the ones that stand out the most.

So needless to say in planning our English country garden we have included roses. In fact even though we are only in the beginning stage of planning I have already bought our first rose and although it is not a climbing rose it is an English rose, and the most soft and delicate shade of blush.  I couldn’t resist it at the garden centre and had to bring it home. The plan is to keep it indoors over the winter near the French doors in my office. And I’m thrilled to bits that as I write this (in early November) it has a new bud that should be open by the end of the week if not sooner.
